  • What sort of trip can we expect?

We will work with you to put together a customised itinerary focusing on the highlights you would like to see, we will add in all arrangements with local experiences to complete your trip. On starting your itinerary with us you will have a private guide available to you, who will impart their knowledge. Guide, transport, touring and meals where indicated on your itinerary will be included. Our aim is to give you the most authentic local experience whilst showing you the best of each destination.

  • How can travel with kids be adapted?

Each destination can be customised for children. Being Mums ourselves we know what travelling with kids is like and can make adaptations where needed.

  • Are there any age restrictions for your itineraries?

As our itineraries are private for your travelling party, so age is not a problem as long as the itinerary is customised for your abilities.

  • Is there a minimum/maximum group size?

There are no minimum or maximum group sizes as your arrangements are all privately organised for your group only.

  • Can I have a breakdown of the package costs?

Our tour prices are based on the services detailed in each personalised itinerary. Services are sold as a complete package and we are not able to provide a breakdown any of the components to give individual costs of your trip. As your itinerary is personalised we may be able to change components within to suit your budget.

  • Do I have to have travel insurance?

Yes, travel insurance is mandatory for all trips with Real Local Experiences. We need to ensure you are covered completely from the time you leave your home country till your return. At a minimum, your travel insurance must cover against personal accident, death, medical expenses, emergency repatriation and personal liability. We also strongly recommend insurance that covers cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage and personal effects.

  • What is the enquiry to booking process?

After receiving your enquiry form we will contact you to listen to your wants and desires for your trip. Once you are happy with the arrangements a deposit will be required to confirm all arrangements. Closer to your arrival date final payment of the itinerary is required then it is just waiting time till your arrival and your holiday of a lifetime begins.

  • Do I need vaccinations for my trip?

It’s recommended to speak to your medical provider regarding all medical queries, including vaccinations and any other requirements for overseas travel. It is your responsibility to ensure you have correct coverage for the areas you will be travelling..Be aware that some vaccinations may be needed well in advance of your trip.

  • Do I need visas for my trip? Can you help with that?

Your home country’s government website will have an outline of details required for visa regulations. They may also have details of the embassy for each country you are travelling to. Alternatively there are visa agencies who, for a fee, can help you with your applications, should it be needed. We are happy to supply letters as needed for your itinerary with Real Local Experiences, however it is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct permissions to travel.

  • Will all my guides speak English?

Yes, all our guides are comfortable speaking English. If you prefer to speak Spanish or Portuguese our guides will all speak the native language as well, you could use your trip to as way to perfect or start your other language skills.

  • Can my dietary requirement be catered for?

We will do all we can to arrange meals inline with dietary requirements. There may be places you will need to stock up on special snacks, if you see them, and not all restaurants will understand your requirement, however we will be there to assist you with this when needed. Advance notice of any dietary requirements is appreciated so we have time to make arrangements.

  • Can I drink the water?

In most destinations in South America it is not recommended to drink the water from the tap. We will provide access to drinking water on our itineraries, and all hotels used on your trip will either have free or purchased water for you to drink.

  • Are the trips physically demanding?

Our tours can be as physically as you would like them to be, whether that be hiking to the tops of mountains, lying on a beach enjoying a cocktail, a combination of the two or anything in between we can make it happen for you. Some destinations can be more challenging than others such as the altitude in Cusco or Quito or the distances needed to walk to see sights, with stairs, sand or hills. In these situations we will take things at your speed to ensure you reach your destination in the safest possible way.

  • Are there any extras I will have to pay when on the trip?

Our packages include all items listed on your itinerary. There will be some local expenses, such as meals not mentioned in your itinerary, travel insurance,tips, toilet use in some places, souvenirs and any flights not mentioned.

  • Are flights included?

Internal flights can be included in your itinerary if you would like us to handle those. International flights at the start and end of your trip are not included.

  • How will I access the internet and stay in touch with people not travelling with me?

The majority of hotels have WiFi you can use for free, many restaurants will also have WiFi. Alternatively you could buy a SIM for your phone in each country you travel to.
